The Opportunity –

Australian made Kinga Csilla is recognised globally for its exquisite patterns and intricate adornments, the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship teamed with a passion for creating unique pieces has earned it a cult-like following in a highly saturated market. This project was to further elevate the brand, amplifying their story bringing forth relevance and definition to and unify Kinga Csilla’s messaging and direction.

Our Approach –

Our primary goal was to re-establish a strong connection with the Kinga Csilla consumer while spotlighting the innate attention to detail in their collections. We were confident we could achieve this by ensuring all branding directly correlated with Kinga Csilla’s ethos and values — defining a visible link was paramount. We couldn’t venture too far from the existing tone of the brand but strategized a subtle elevation to achieve maximum impact and cut-through.

“We’re ecstatic with the branding that SM House created for Kinga Csilla — from start to finish, they have been a delight to work with.”

Design Notes –

The branding we created, heavily leans into the distinctive elements that embody Kinga Csilla — the intricacies, the craftsmanship, the quality. We consciously worked to link every granular element of the brand identity back with the high quality and precise detail evidenced in Kinga Csilla’s garments.

A truly unique logo marque and assets were developed resemblant of an effect from an Indian woodblock stamp, evident in Kinga Csilla’s handcrafted prints. Branding was developed to allow the logos themselves to be incorporated into the garments should the designers wish — really cementing the synergy between branding and physical product.

The brand marque bridges the link to Kinga Csilla’s sustainability focus. We worked hard to convey a sense of connection through the visuals, connecting the brand to mother earth, their ethical manufacturers, and consumers — this is evidenced in the interconnected letterforms. Letters were intentionally placed ‘back-to-back’ highlighting the support Kinga Csilla has of these integral third parties.

“The SM House team really nailed the brief with energy and experience. We adore SM House and continue to work with the team on ongoing brand projects.”
